Extract emails from excel database

Everyone know the importance of Email marketing. Sometimes we have a forum with lot of registered members. We usually send an email to them by generating a list but most of the companies does not allow to send 200 or 300 emails at once.

In this case this is the best idea to make list by exporting user table of a VB database to MS EXCEL. here I will assume that you have exported the user table in an MS EXCEL file already. Our main concern will be at the emails column.

  1. Insert a blank column to the right of the email column

  2. In the empty cell to the right of the first email address, type = and click on the first email address, and press enter. this should cause the first email address to appear in that cell.

  3. in the empty cell to the right of the SECOND email address, type in =concatenate( and before you push enter, click on the cell immediately above it that contains the COPY of the first email address, then type ,",", and click on the second email address and press enter.

  4. click this cell, then double click the little black box that appears in the lower-right corner. this will auto-fill the formula to the bottom of the sheet.

  5. scroll down to the last line and copy!

Now you can use this email list for email marketing. If find any problem. Please ask in comments.

How To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

When I started this website, I thought it would be easy to earn money online.  But after reading so many articles and ebooks on how to make money online and ebooks on search engine optimization, I realized that making money online is not an easy task.  Writing articles is nothing, if no one is reading it.  Your site is non-existent if no one visits your site.  With no visitors, no one will click the ads and no money will be generated from the site.  So, after posting around ten articles, I started to apply the different techniques of driving traffic to my site.  I learned some of these tips of driving traffic to my blog from other successful bloggers, a lot of ebooks and printed books related to getting visitors to view my site.  One of my online mentors is Marhgil Macuha of Macuha.com.  Another website that I find very useful in my early blogging is Selaplana.com.  I owe a lot from these two guys.

I must admit that driving traffic to your blog will demand a great deal of patience, time, and effort.  But there is really no shortcut to it.  It really takes a lot of understanding, before you can get traffic to freely flow to your website.

8 Tips On How To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

  • Google -> www.google.com/addurl/

  • Yahoo -> https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites

  • Bing -> http://www.bing.com/webmaster

  • Facebook

  • Friendster

  • MySpace

  • Twitter

  1. Write interesting articles.  Write articles that are up to date, catches attention or even controversial.  A good title usually perks up the interest of readers to further read your article.  Interesting articles, with useful content, usually makes visitors return toyour site and recommend it to other readers.

  2. Make popular search engines learn about your site by submitting your site here:

  3. Exchange links with other bloggers.  Search for blogs that are related to your site.  Put the link of that site in your blog before requesting for a link with the owner of that blog.

  4. Submit your articles in the following sites:

  5. Announce your articles in Social Networking Sites to notify friends about your site and new articles posted:

  6. Register and participate to forums.  There are times that some forum members ask for sites that will be beneficial to them.  If your site meets their needs, then give them the link to your site.

  7. Visit other blogs and leave comments or share your views.  If your article is related to another blog’s post, then you may want to leave a link.  Watch out, because other sites do not allow inserting links to other sites.  You may want to ask permission first or check if the owner of the blog allows other visitors to leave comments with links.

  8. Email your friends and announce about your site and new articles posted in your blog.

Avoid spamming other blogs or you may be tagged as a spammer.  If this happens, bloggers may blacklist you in their site and tell their friends about your behavior in the web.  That would be embarrassing and will surely affect how you drive traffic to your blog.  Avoid getting in trouble with other bloggers, be friendly to them and they will be willing to help you.

About Hits, Pageviews, Impressions, Unique visitors

There are various of terms when it comes to calculation of web traffics. Some statistics give you report in terms of daily and monthly unique visitors; some provides more – Pageviews, Hits, etc. You could have heard webmasters claiming their sites to have more than 1 million hits a month. But how big is 1 million hits, does that means they have 1 million visitors every month? Here’s a brief explanations for those who are confuse how figures in these web statistic terms are generated.

Hits

Measuring traffics in hits usually returns you a proudly large number. Hits is also known as request and it’s the total number of files loaded when a single page is requested from the web server. So how hits are calculated? Picture this – a single web page with 20 images (transparent.gif, header-background.gif, etc)is loaded, that’s 20 hits for starters. The web page has 10 photos (jammie.jpg, group-photo.jpg, etc), that’s another 10 hits. if you add up the CSS files, Javascript files and all the external files, each time a web page is loaded, it can easily build up more than 50 hits. If you clear cache, reload the page, another 50+ hits again.

Hits are rarely used to to judge a website’s traffic nowadays as they are not really accurate. The numbers are big and certainly cool, but generally useless.

Pageviews

Pageviews is a calculation of how many times a page is viewed. Say a visitor lands on your main page, that’s 1 pageview. Same visitor clicks to About Us page, that’s another pageview. By dividing total pageviews with total unique visitors, you can get an idea how many pageviews each visitor generates.

Impressions

Impression is more or less a marketing term, normally calculated in bulk of 1000. It counts how many times a element (image, text, video) appears on a web page. If a advertisement network is paying $3/CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions), that means you are getting paid $3 when the banner appears 1000 times on your web page. Adbrite is also a cpm based ad network that can monetized your website.

Visits / Unique Visitors

Visits is normally equivalent to unique visitors. Think of it as the number of different people (different IP) that visits your web page. Visits or unique visitors are the most essential numbers of all, when it comes to determine the traffic of a specific site

16 Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog

You've got your blog set up and you've started posting pithy, useful information that your niche market would benefit from and enjoy. Days go by, you keep publishing, but no one comments and your traffic stats are barely registering. What do you do?

Like any website you own, you must do some blog promotion to start driving traffic to your site. Here are 16 steps, in no particular order of importance, that you can start doing now to get traffic moving to your blog.

1. Set up an email subscription form on your blog and invite everyone in your network to subscribe: family, friends, colleagues, clients, associates.

2. Set up a feed on MyYahoo.com so your site gets regularly spidered by the Yahoo search engine.

3. Read and comment on other blogs that are in your target niche. Don't write things like "nice blog" or "great post." Write intelligent, useful comments with a link to your blog.

4. Use Ping-0-matic to ping blog directories. Do this every time you publish.

5. Submit your blog to traditional search engines.

6. Submit your blog to blog directories.

Tip: Create a form to track your submissions; this can take several hours when you first start so schedule an hour a day for submitting or hire a VA to do it for you.

7. Add a link to your blog in your email signature file.

8. Put a link to your blog on every page of your website.

9. If you publish a newsletter, make sure you have a link to your blog in every issue.

10. Include a link to your blog as a standard part of all outgoing correspondence such as autoresponder sequences, sales letters, reports, white papers, etc.

11. Print your blog URL on your business cards, brochures and flyers.

12. Make sure you have an RSS feed URL that people can subscribe to. The acronym RSS means Rich Site Summary, or some may consider its meaning as Really Simple Syndication. It is a document type that lists updates of websites or blogs available for syndication. These RSS documents (also known as 'feeds') may be read using aggregators (news readers). RSS feeds may show headlines only or both headlines and summaries.

13. Post often to keep attracting your subscribers to come back and refer you to others in their networks; include links to other blogs, articles and websites in your posts

14. Use Trackback links when you quote or refer to other blog posts. What is TrackBack? Essentially what this does is send a message from one server to another server letting it know you have posted a reference to their post. The beauty is that a link to your blog is now included on their site.

15. Write articles to post around the web in article directories. Include a link to your blog in the author info box (See example in our signature below).

16. Make a commitment to blog everyday. 10 minutes a day can help increase your traffic as new content attracts search engine spiders. Put it on your calendar as a task every day at the same time.

Tip: Use a hit counter to track your visitor stats: how many unique visitors, how many page views, average length of visit.

How to Get Targeted Traffic to Your Website From Search Engine Keyword Searches

Most people believe that the only way to get their keywords to rank high in the search engines is to use the SEOers tricks and tactics. But these tactics are only able to fool the spiders for a short time and then algorithms change and so does your keyword ranking, and you have to start climbing back up again using new tricks/tactics that are doomed to fail again.

1. How to get your keywords to rank in search engines.

The proper way to get good ranking, is by giving the search engine spiders what they are looking for, relevance. How do you do this? Good question: Proper planning from the start is the key. In order to get high traffic keywords to rank, you will build a list of keywords with lower traffic and competition that are connected with your higher ranking keyword by sub categories i.e. traffic is your high ranking keyword and a sub category might be daily traffic.

So to give relevance to these keywords you would write one web-page on and about traffic. Your daily traffic keyword will be a link on your side bar on the web-page about traffic. In the content about daily traffic you will have a link to yet another lower keyword were you have written a web-page on this subject. In this way the lower or easierkeywords to get ranking for, due to low search volume and competition will be the doorway that starts the keyword ranking process.

2. How to build up your search engine traffic through keywords ranking.

If you set up your website in this manner, your lower keywords will rank first and traffic will find its way into your site from the bottom. The search engines notice and watch their movement on your site, if you write good content hopefully they will continue further into you site structure. As this takes placesearch engines notice and they will see the relevance in your site. And soon your higher ranking keywords will be found in the search engines , and this will cause greater traffic. Which in-turn gets more noticed and your site content becomes more relevant and finally your top keyword is ranked and your site is growing in traffic and relevancy.

3. How building on the right platform will make all the difference.

Everything will be based on your site structure: The way you categorize your keywords from your niche market. Planning this out can be quite a task but with the right tools and guidance, once learned it can be reproduced over and over again. If you desire to build a business that generates warm targeted traffic that will only grow and grow then you need to learn how to structure your website
